15.12.11

Light & Shadow

I lost my creative compass for a while, dealing with self-doubt and whatnot. Decided to shake off the cobwebs and sketched a pair of Tomorrow Kings (Ashley Wood).

22.9.11

Space Colony 3000

This was the last project I worked on when I was studying in FZD. It was angled towards making assets for social games, such as those found on Facebook and smartphone devices. I forced myself to work with colours that are brighter and more vibrant.

12.9.11

Odessea Festival

I seldom do fantasy stuff, so I took this as both a challenge and a practice. Long way to go.

2.9.11

The Siege Beast

Production paintings of a siege beast being dragged to the target castle. He’s gonna wreak havoc! One of my attempts at doing fantasy.

22.8.11

Nitron Aggressor Mouse

A conceptual design for a customizable mouse.

15.8.11

Zoo Island Puppets

In my final term, I realized that I haven’t drawn anything overly cartoony in a while. This assignment seemed like an appropriate time to show some bright and colourful stuff that might possibly appeal to the general audience. Zoo Island was a made-up kids show where they use puppets instead of CG.

4.8.11

Dune - House Harkonnen

For this assignment, we could pick one of the three houses found in Frank Herbert’s Dune and re-imagine them in our own way. I picked House Harkonnen, and imagined the family to have Yakuza-like influences, living in a polluted neo-Tokyo type of city.

25.7.11

Adidas X Bosch Electric Bicycle Concepts

We were assigned 2 companies for this project and our job was to come up with a fictional product that they could collaborate on. I went with the idea of electric bikes, and this one is more for performance, if bike racing actually went electric (which would involve power storing and smart bursts of cycling). The second one was more for the Adidas Originals line.

24.6.11

Painting Practice

Digital painting practice to hone my strokes and methods of indication.

26.5.11

The Jungle Book

One of our projects involved taking a popular childhood tale and giving it our very own twist. I picked The Jungle Book, because I remember how the talking animals used to captivate me as kid. I truly enjoyed doing this project, especially having fun with the characters and taking a bit of liberty with the story.

My approach was more like making a video game from the book, set in a future setting where nature has taken over.

24.5.11

Sputnik Industries

Sputnik Industries was a small figment of my imagination. A sort of retro-future alternate reality where the Soviets won the space race and capitalized.

25.4.11

Jungle Book Covers

My initial attempts at doing a book cover. Coincidentally, I was also doing a project on childhood stories at that time.

12.4.11

Railroad Panic

My idea of a new arcade machine, involving tracks as playpieces. The objective is to manage all the trains safely and guide them to their destination.

11.4.11

Oliver, The Smith God

This is Oliver, a smith god once bullied by the other gods. With the help of his adrenaline pumps, trusty anvil and massive hammer, he broke free. Originally meant to be an entry for Dominance War.
